Got off at Asakusa station to have a quick stroll in Asakusa area before heading back home to have dinner with my hosts. You just gotta love the public transport system in Japan. Almost all tourist spots are within a few hundred meters away from a train or subway.

Series of shops leading to Asakusa |
Nice scenic walkway, suggest you take this street versus the really crowded main street. Just take main street on your way back. |
Lots of shops selling different goodies |
Minimalist yet beautiful architecture |
Old world charm |
As you walk down further you will see the hordes of tourists swarming the temples. Albeit, it was still peaceful.

Such intricacies in design |

Not sure what the line was for |

Don't take photos against the light |
Just don't.. |
I must admit I did not have enough time to immerse myself on the grounds of Asakusa. I had to get back to my host for dinner that night. I do hope though that the touristy photos I took give you a good glimpse of its beauty.

Ladies wishing for a handsome Japanese man |
Well kept temples |
Plenty of food stalls too just outside the temples. |
Lovely, is it a lantern? |
More wishing |
There is much more to Asakusa other than its temples which I only discovered later when my Japanese friend showed me around. I'd be sure to talk about that in a future post on riding a bicycle around Tokyo.
For now, enjoy the grounds of Asakusa temples.
To end the third day of Tokyo exploration, a delicious home cooked dinner with my lovely hosts. Itadakimasu!

Nothing beats home cooked meal |
